Stormy Draycote

So what turned out to be a good Sunday walk and stretch those legs turned into a disaster. The plan was to walk round Draycote water and enjoy the fresh air and get a little exercise, how wrong could we have been.
John sticking out his tongue checking the air-temperature.
Okay, I guess we should have seen the storm clouds gathering but I was so busy looking at the new duck pond created from the storms that swept across the UK on Thursday and John was looking at my attempts at photography that we missed the dark clouds across the water.

Of course we were stuck in the middle of nowhere and got soaked to the skin, but what a fab picture of a rainbow.

This is the ice storm we got caught in, it was freezing and not a couple of mins later the sun came out, too late for us as we were both drenched to the skin and wet jeans are not the best things to walk in.

If only we had set off half an hour later we could have enjoyed a very pleasant walk in glorious sunshine. Instead we trudged back to the car like drowned rats.

At least John sees the funny side of it all.!!!!!!
