The Mission

Lin had heard many tales of her parents life in South Africa, many centred on her parents house at Fish Hoek, so it was her mission to find this house:

Our first attempt failed so we tried another approach and went to the Fishhoek Museum. Speaking with the lady who runs the museum we found she had a friend who had lived in Fishhoek in the 50s and she kindly rang her up. Low and behold her friend remembered the house. We were then taken to see if the house was the right one.
Eureka, it was the correct house and Lin and her new buddy pose outside the house. The reality of seeing the house for real was just too much for Lin and she attacks the helpful lady(which goes to prove no good deed goes unpunished):

And just to show there is more to Fish Hoek than this house............here is the Railway Station, we had a cup of coffee just around the corner and a very fine cup it was too, the coffee wasn't bad either.

Having succeded in this mission we took off to the nearby town of Noordhoek, where we wandered around the 'Farm Village' ..............
And then out to the sea side..................No we didn't go for a swim. No we didn't go surfing either or wind surfing we stayed well away unlike these heroes.
But I nearly conned Lin..................
