Time to go
Before we arrived in Australia we made plans to have a holiday in South Africa, a place I have always wanted to visit. We arrived in Cape Town to warm weather and bright sunshine, we picked up our Hire-Car and made our way to our hotel named "The Spier" which is part of the Stellenbosch Winelands. What a lovely suprise when we arrived to find this huge room and massive bed.
Even better was the huge bathroom with double sink, shower and a bath that may have fitted an entire Rugby team.
To break ourselves in slowly we drove to Stellenbosch which was a few miles away and took a stroll around. The Rhenish Church was built in 1823 as a school for slaves` children and "coloured" people.
Once a cabbage always a cabbage here I am outside the VOC Kruithuis, the magazine of the Dutch East India Company which was built in 1777 to defend the early settlement.
