Autumn is here

March 1st.......first day of Autumn down here in the Southern Hemisphere and in typical fashion it came in with a bang. Wet, cold, and pretty miserable so when the sun came out we thought it would be a good idea to hit the beach and have a barbie.

The weather was okay, not too hot, a little windy perhaps but good enough for a stroll and a paddle/swim if the temperature was right.......shame the weather turned once we had left home but being true Brits we decided that we would be the 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen' who go out in the midday...........wind.

Even the birds, of the feathered sort, were bunkered down, not a bikini in sight.

Their view was pretty good though, a slight ripple on the shimmering water, sunlight glistening and damn big clouds looming behind us.

The beach was crowded. NOT. Still the life savers were there to protect the few......anyone!!!!!!

John claims his spot on the beach in case of crowds, oh, of course there aren't any.
Hang on, I spy someone sneaking down to the waters edge. 'Make sure you stay where you are John we do not want him taking our spot.......tinker.'

For goodness sake, a crowd is now on the beach, all we wanted was a quiet day.

Now they are even sneaking in on the water.

A walk to get away from the madding crowd and even the seaweed is making an appearance.

Not sure if this is a weed or flower but it is very pretty.

Pale colours are a must as this was everywhere we went that day.

We had our barbie and went home via the shops, and then the heavens opened, got home to see these darlings, anyone for garlic snails?

Plenty of these about too, we have to make sure they do not get into the house as they are very reluctant to leave, John had to chase one or two to get them out of the living room and bedroom.
Nippy little critters they are too.

"Wet cold and miserable?".....John is in shorts!!!
We are currently having daytime temps ABOVE freezing (in March!!). Everyone is walking about with silly grins, the sun is shining and it is a postively balmy 4C. We may even have a picnic tomorrow!
Stay warm (he he he)
Love Jane
