'Take to them there hills' or in our case....... Mountains, so we did, picnic made and in the boot, games, camera, video all packed up and ready to go.
We went early as we thought we would struggle to get a spot at the picnic tables under the cooling shade of the trees.
'Okay people, where are you all hiding'? Our car all alone, damn big trees though.
Run John and nab a table quick.
Aaaaaarh look a visitor, cute thing kept getting closer, would it like a sandwich or a cake or even a cup of coffee!!!!!!! Not on your life, it just kept circling and lifting its head and sniffing the air.
That is until John went to light the barbie for our Hot Cross Buns, he ran up the tree, hey maybe it is a Hot Cross......lizard. (Sorry) Guess he just got scared and ran for it.
Now I know I am not tall or that wide but they certainly grow big trees in this neck of the woods, even when they are chopped down and I am a long way a way.
But the fallen tree does not go to waste and here is an offering to remember it by. How I love this wooden seat and reckon one would look pretty cool in a garden. Not sure we could get it in the boot or even manage to lift it.
The sky is still Blue and it is still hot so we thought we should go exploring, keep to the trees and we should be okay for shade, lets face it there are plenty to sit under.
Now if these were Blackberries we would have brought them all home and made some yummy pies, but as we have absolutely no idea what they are we left them alone for the birds. Do look pretty though, guess that means they are poisonous then!
Looks like a jungle out there, so many different types of greenery and foliage, cannot recognise a thing, so perhaps I should buy a book and take it with me to try and put a name to it all.
We could follow the river and see where it takes us, at least we will not get lost if we stick to the path. They could be our famous last words...

Thank you for letting us come on your walk with you. Did we laugh a lot? Did you warn me to stay away from the edges, tell me to get my feet off the table, and other things big sisters do?
Thanks for all the colour in our still gray and brown world.
Love Jane
